As part of the visual art and design program
at St Thomas More School, students are introduced to a wide variety of materials,
skills and techniques.
This knowledge is built on a sound foundation
of the elements of art and principles of design and includes, painting, drawing
(with a variety of materials), mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics
and digital media.
Students are encouraged to draw inspiration
from other artists and designers in order to create visual representations that
express their own ideas and those of other cultures. St Thomas More School has
its own dedicated art room, with a kiln and plenty of space to experiment so
that students develop increasing expertise and the confidence to find their
unique artistic expression.
