Health and Physical Education

Physical Education at Saint Thomas More, focuses on the Australian Curriculum strand of Movement and Physical Activity. Students are assessed and reported against the Achievement Standard of the Australian Curriculum in relation to their appropriate Year (Band) level: P-2, Years 3-4, and Years 5-6.​​

Physical Education is timetabled into the weekly school timetable and is taught by a specialist PE teacher. All students are catered for within the varied and inclusive sporting​ programs offered, enhancing participation in the wider life of the school through individual and team based events.

Through the year there are three main carnivals – Cross Country (Term 1), Athletics (Terms 2 & 3) and Swimming and surf skills program for Year 6 (Term 4). In partnership with the Noosa Gymnastics club, all students have the opportunity to attend a gymnastics program tailored for their year level. Throughout the year other sporting opportunities that are covered within the school program include:
